Church History

Emmanuel Tabernacle Center of Hope Ministries Inc. was founded in March of 2002 by Elder Van Dyke Freeman. Along with First Lady Freeman who serves as Co-Pastor of the ministry, services began in the Holiday Inn Hotel on Woodlawn St., Charlotte, NC 3:00 pm every Sunday afternoon. As the vision for a God-centered, prayer and praise- filled worship center came into view, the ministry moved from the Holiday Inn Hotel to a building on Yeoman Street, Charlotte, NC. There, in a very small space, we witnessed an outpouring of the presence of the Lord. The ministry was then blessed to move twice more to various areas in the Charlotte community touching lives and leaving an eternal mark of the ministry of Jesus Christ. Bringing national and international ministries to the Charlotte area, as well as community outreach efforts including a city-wide Health Fair were just a few of the services the ministry provided.

In 2006, the Lord began to speak to Pastor Freeman about the next “move” of ministry for Emmanuel Tabernacle Center of Hope. All roads led to Rock Hill, SC. Saying “yes” to the voice of the Lord, the ministry began preparing to serve in the Rock Hill area. Uniting with several churches in Rock Hill, Pastor and First Lady Freeman were aligned with pastors and churches who also understood the new level of manifestation of God’s word and power that was to come to the Rock Hill area. Thus, Emmanuel Tabernacle Center of Hope began Salvation, Healing, & Deliverance Impact Crusade Sunday, January 14, 2007 at 1226 Haynes Street in Rock Hill, SC (the United Deliverance church building). Services were held at this location 3:00 p.m. every Sunday afternoon. However, it was during a move to 1244 East Main St. that the ministry would experience surge of souls and a new place in God with an addition of approximately 35 new members. In February of 2009, the Lord blessed Emmanuel Tabernacle Center of Hope to enlarge its territory to a new church edifice and administration building in Charlotte, NC. Senior Pastor Van and Pastor Davonia Freeman currently lead the congregation of the newly named Emmanuel World Evangelistic Outreach, 549 Pineville, NC.  To God be the Glory for the things He has done. And the best is yet to come! Amen.

  • The Bible is the Inspired, Infallible, and Authoritative Word of God.
  • There is one God eternal, “Hear O Israel, the Lord our God was manifested in flesh in the person of Jesus Christ (I Tim. 3:16)
  • The only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious Blood of Jesus.
  • Water baptism by emersion in the name of Jesus Christ is for remission of sin (Acts 2:38).
  • In the baptism of the Holy Ghost, according to Acts 2:3,4, with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
  • The Lord’s Supper is a sacred rite; a command to be carried out by the Christian church.
  • In order to be saved, we must follow God’s Standard of Salvation, which is in His Word.
  • The local church through preaching of the Gospel, is a place of salvation for the unbeliever and for nurturing the new believer. The local church is a place to receive power for service for the work of the Lord and a place for corporate worship in the Spirit.
